Hey guys! I’m back!! It’s been a hectic few weeks (months even) and I honestly haven’t had too much time to stay active online but I’m back and better than ever. I just got my blog updated and I’m absolutely loving the new look. Anyways, while I was MIA, I officially completed my second Jean Drive in April. So, I wanted to give a little update on my volunteer efforts as well as talk about where I plan to go from here.
First off, I am so proud of myself for being able to complete my second Jean Drive! (WOO-HOO, I have officially donated over 400 pairs of jeans!) My mindset was that if I could do it one time, I could definitely do it again. So, I’m proud that I stuck with it, despite the delay due to Covid. My first jean drive was so rewarding and seeing the smiles on other’s faces made me realize that I am capable of doing it again. Like my first jean drive, I made updated flyers that I gave to my teachers and friends and I advertised on Instagram by creating a highlight of my philanthropy (check out my Instagram to see: @lovenatalyn).
I took donations from friends, family, and teachers. I also bought a few new jeans from Old Navy because they often had great deals. Lastly, I thrifted a lot of jeans so that I could make sure to get a variety of them for all ages. Unfortunately this time, I wasn’t able to volunteer like I did the first time (The day of drop off wasn’t a scheduled volunteer day), but it was still great to be able to drop them off at Happy Helpers.
I do plan on starting up my third jean drive so I will update the jean counter widget so you guys can stay up to date with the amount of jeans I’m able to tally up. Also, if you’re local and have any jeans to donate, please reach out to me via my Instagram! I am able to schedule pickups for local people. I’m really excited because giving back is so rewarding and hopefully, I’ll be able to complete my jean drive by early next year!

Please volunteer or do a service project if you can. Ms. Bobbi Coffman who runs it is a real gem and a pleasure to work with.
Happy Helper’s for the Homeless is a great organization and it has been a privilege to meet one of their critical needs.
Here’s a look back to my 1st jean drive back in 2019:
