Calvert Cliffs State Park is located in Calvert County, Maryland. (Lusby to be exact). There are 3 trails that you can take – yellow, blue, and red. My family and I, took the red trail because we were told it was the easiest (not as steep as the others) and the shortest. The red trail is 1.8 mile hike in order to get to the cliffs.
Okay, after hiking for close to 2 miles to get to the cliffs it was breath-taking. The main feature of this state park is panning for fossils. (Since this was an impromptu visit, I had none of my panning supplies on hand! – next time!)
