As many of you all know, Polyvore was a site where you could make fashion sets and become a fashion editor on your own. I’ve done many sets for Fashion Friday using Polyvore to make fashion collages as it is too cold to take many pictures outside and have a photo shoot.
I haven’t been very active on Polyvore because for the past week and a half, I’ve been on spring break. I come back and the site is gone. All of my work is gone. I originally was going to make a Fashion Friday post for you all considering the fact that I didn’t post one last week.
When I clicked on the link to Polyvore, it redirected me to a Fashion site called SSENSE. I did some research as to why this was happening and I read an article that said that SSENSE had acquired the Polyvore website. Many Polyvore users were taking to twitter, furious with Polyvore for unexpectedly shutting down.
I’m really disappointed that there was no warning that Polyvore was shutting down, and I honestly really enjoyed creating fashion sets. I worked really hard on them and all of my creations are lost (except for the ones I used for previous Fashion Fridays). I really hope that Polyvore comes back to it’s original website.
Here’s a showcase of all my saved sets:
Sorry for the inconvenience with Fashion Friday. Hopefully I will be able to get back on my photoshoot routine again once it gets a little bit warmer outside! Stay tuned for more to come though!❤
Hi Natalyn, I’m not sure if you’ve heard about Shoptagr (https://goo.gl/B3NGDs) but it has some similar features: You can save items from thousands of stores into lists, get price drop alerts, and share with your friends. Canva’s also decent for making collages. Best of luck with your next Fashion Friday post xx
Camillia,
OMG! Thank you so much for sharing this with me! I really appreciate it! I was so upset about Polyvore, that I couldn’t even see straight to do more research on finding an alternative. YAY!!! I’m SUPER EXCITED to explore this site. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!❤️
