Happy December & happy Friday! It’s officially my birthday month and I am so excited! It’s so crazy to think that in a few weeks I will be 17 years old. Anyways, before Covid hit, I had a plan to do another Jean Drive for Happy Helpers for the Homeless. Due to obvious reasons, I has to put my jean drive on hod and wait until quarantine and lockdown was over until I could pick it back up again.
So, this month I am starting up my second annual Jean Drive and I am so freakin’ excited! Over the summer, I made and donated bread to Cast Your Bread Baltimore in efforts to feed the homeless but because of my crazy schedule now that I’m in school, it’s been harder than ever to donate bread which is also part of the reason why I decided to pick my Jean Drive back up. It should be a lot easier now that things are opening up again.
My experience with doing the Jean Drive the first year I did it was so rewarding and fun to be able to put a smile on someone else’s face and I will never forget that moment and that feeling. So, instead of doing my traditional Fashion Friday’s, I thought it would be fun to share what I’ve been up to regarding my Jean Drive!
So far, I have created flyers and starting next week I will hand them out to my teachers and friends in hopes to be able to collect their unwanted jeans to contribute to my Jean Drive! I also just created a highlight on my Instagram where I will update the status of my Jean Drive and other community service projects! The goal is 200 pairs of jeans and so far, I am up to 20. If you or anyone you know is local, I am able to do contactless pick up so please reach out if you have any jeans to donate!
