I recently, did a fun little project for the local 50+ plus community center. I painted and decorated rocks. It was a lot of fun! It was for my community initiative that is striving to make a more friendly better place for all ages. The initiatives motto is “Howard County Community ROCKS, but we want to make it even Boulder”! I painted and decorated 20 rocks in which I earned 8 service hours. While working on this project I was able to reflect on how awesome my community is. I feel like our community leaders are always thinking of positive ways to get folks involved. I like that the project wasn’t too complicated and that anyone could really do this. Sometimes doing simple things to get involved makes others want to do the same.
Here are my rocks – Aren’t they beautiful?!
When I went to drop of my rocks, I was told that I could spread my rocks out in their garden myself. That was really rewarding because I got to see what others did to decorate their rocks. There were so many beautiful and thoughtful rocks were on display.
My local family and friends this is an ongoing project. You can check it out by clicking here
I think I will also do 20 more rocks for another community center that’s about 10
minutes from my house. Here’s the link for this one: click here
For those who need community service hours – you can thank me later! 😉
