My 2019 Word of the Year

Posted on January 3, 2019

HAPPY 2019!

Since last year, I started participating in the word of the year! I’ve found it fun and a great reminder of my overall goal of the year. It’s nice to have one word that sums up your yearly goals. Last year, my word of the year was Perseverance. I love the word it served as a great reminder that no matter how many roadblocks/barriers I have to go through I can find a way to succeed. In the past, things would come up and I would feel bogged down by these mundane things that it would distract me from achieving obtainable goals. I think my 2019, word will help me and probably be the next best direction for me to go to in order to achieve the goals I’m seeking. So…

My 2019 Word of the YEAR is:

This year, I have so much, I want to accomplish like dedicating more time to blogging, volunteering, studying for the PSATs (yes, I’m going to study for it!), and getting ready for high school. I thought it would be really fitting for my word of the year to be STRIVE!

According to the Oxford Dictionary, Strive means “to make great efforts to achieve or obtain something”.

I have so many things that I want to strive and do my best at. Strive to me is such a strong word that makes me feel empowered to get stuff done at my best level. My goals are important to me and if I strive to accomplish them, I know, I will succeed.

I honestly feel that having a word a year helps me focus more on my goals. It becomes a word I visualize and a mantra in my head when I’m working on achieving a goal. This year, I’m going to get a bracelet made from 212 West. I love their jewelry and I think having my word of the year on my wrist will also be another silent reminder of my word.

Strive for continuous improvement instead of perfection ~Unknown

What’s your word of the year? (Please share! I might steal it for next year! 😂)

That is such a great word! I love it because it’s a part of each and every positive thing we want to accomplish. We strive for it. We push for it. We never stop.
