Honestly, I can’t believe summer break is over! I had a great summer but it felt like it flew by. I still have like 50 summer posts that I’m still working on. I keep telling myself that because summer break is over it’s still summer for a few weeks so that’s my true deadline!
Anyways, onto the next unbelievable part…I CAN’T BELIEVE, I’m officially an 8th GRADER…Wow, it feels like just yesterday, I was just starting middle school! Next year, I will be in High School! JUST WOW!
Okay, Onto the most important part of this post… What I wore the first day! I am a firm believer that this is important. (Yes, of course learning is important too but that’s really a given.) First day, in my mind, sets the stage for the rest of the year. You can’t control what’s really gonna happen in class or your teachers but as along as you have a say in your fashion (minus the dress code issues and uniforms) this is yours to control! All yours! It’s freedom of expression. My mom always says, “If you look good, you feel good!” The standard of looking good means something different to everyone. I don’t judge what others wear but I do judge myself. I wear what makes me happy not what others like that makes them happy. Yes, I do follow some fashion trends but I put my own spin on them because what may look good on one person may not look good on the next.
Every summer, I start my search for the best 1st day outfit. Normally, it takes me a long time to figure out what style I want to search for but this year, I clearly knew, I wanted a jumpsuit. I’ve been looking for a jumpsuit for quite some time. Every jumpsuit I have tried on over the past 6 months has been too big for me. I finally found one at Marshall’s a few weeks ago and I was literally jumping up and down like a fool in the store. To me this jumpsuit is simple but perfect. I knew that I wanted to wear platforms to give this look an extra boost and I wanted to wear my hair in a high bun to show off my shoulders.
When it comes to important days of your life make it special by wearing something extra special that makes that day even more memorable. Also, don’t worry about what others are wearing. Choose to be you and express yourself fashionably that best represents you. Always stay fashionably true to yourself!
I just realised we’re in the same grade! Also oh my gosh yes obsessed with your outfit!!

Hi Natalyn,
I love the jumpsuit and my daughter is now on the search to wear one for her eight grade pictures. Can you tell me who made the jumpsuit so I can try to find it online for her?
Thanks Dee
